# Billing

> Top up your balance, pay in your currency, set up auto top-up, and manage invoices and billing history

Requesty bills from a prepaid USD balance: every request deducts its cost from your organization's balance, and a request is rejected with a 402 error once the balance runs out. Manage everything from [Billing settings](https://app.requesty.ai/settings/billing) in the Console.

<Note>
  Billing is **admin only**. See [RBAC](/features/rbac) for the role breakdown.
</Note>

## Topping up

Open **Billing settings** and choose **Top up**. Pick an amount in USD credits, a payment method, and a currency. A 5% service fee is added to every top-up, so a $100 top-up costs $105 and credits \$100 to your balance.

| Payment method | Currencies |
| - | - |
| Card | USD, GBP, EUR, JPY, CNY |
| iDEAL | EUR |

Your balance is always held in USD credits. When you pay in another currency, checkout shows the exchange rate (1 USD = the converted amount) and the converted base, fee, and total before you pay; the displayed rate already includes currency conversion costs.

Cards are processed by Stripe. Requesty stores only a reference to the payment method, never the card details.

## Auto top-up

Auto top-up keeps your balance above a floor you choose. In the top-up dialog, enable **Auto top-up** and set:

* **Threshold**: the USD balance that triggers a charge
* **Top-up amount**: the USD amount charged each time

When your balance falls below the threshold, Requesty charges your saved payment method for the top-up amount plus the 5% service fee and credits the USD amount to your balance. The charge is made in your card's currency when it is one of USD, GBP, EUR, JPY, or CNY; cards in other currencies are charged in USD.

Only one top-up runs at a time, and repeated triggers within a short window do not double-charge. If the card keeps declining, auto top-up stops trying until a charge succeeds or you set it up again.

Disable auto top-up at any time from the same dialog.

<Tip>
  Your balance is also your [in-flight request limit](/features/in-flight-rate-limits): the limit is your balance multiplied by your tier's multiplier. An auto top-up threshold keeps that limit stable, so set the threshold so that threshold times your multiplier covers your peak concurrency.
</Tip>

Pair auto top-up with a [low-balance alert](/features/alerts) if you want a notification when the balance still drops below a level you care about.

## Billing history

The billing page lists every payment for the organization: the USD credits added, any gift or promotion bonus, the service fee, the total charged, the charge currency, and the status. In-flight charges appear as **Pending** until the payment completes; completed charges show **Paid**.

## Invoices

Turn on **Invoices** in billing settings and each charge generates a Stripe invoice with your organization's invoice name, address, and tax ID, taken from your billing details. For a past card payment that has no invoice, open its row in billing history and choose **View** or **Download**: Requesty creates the invoice retrospectively and downloads it.

## Post-paid organizations

By agreement with Requesty, an organization can run post-paid instead of prepaid: traffic keeps flowing while the balance is negative and usage is settled separately. Post-paid status is set by Requesty and cannot be enabled from the API. Contact [support@requesty.ai](mailto:support@requesty.ai) to switch.

## Errors

| Situation | What happens |
| - | - |
| Balance reaches zero | Requests return 402 until you top up; see [Error Codes](/features/error-codes) |
| Auto top-up charge fails | The payment method is retried until it keeps failing, then auto top-up pauses; update the card or set auto top-up up again |
| Card currency is not USD, GBP, EUR, JPY, or CNY | The charge is made in USD |
